Our Approach
We recommend actionable improvements and solutions, supported by a strong empirically based rationale gathered through our range of user testing techniques and supporting tools. We document insights from direct interaction and observation of users during focus groups, one-to-one moderation in our in-house user testing laboratory or remote user testing.
We often conduct workshops for a project in which users are invited to UI Centric for a structured discussion. From this we can gain a clearer perspective of a user’s point of view with their feedback being used to base-line, prioritise and document project requirements. These are then translated into an application experience as a wireframe prototype which gets validated through user testing before being finalised and developed.
Our software and facilities enable us to test for web, mobile, tablet, desktop PC, interactive large screens and console devices. Working in collaboration with our clients we define the test goals and select the appropriate testing methodology.

Measurement and reporting
Subjective feedback such as a user’s satisfaction and frustration levels, preferences and dislikes are grouped under qualitative observations. Qualitative research is used to investigate the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of user behaviours. Quantitative measures are also captured, including duration to make first click, drop-off rate, task completion time and various other attributes.
Participant’s eye movements across the screen can also be recorded during tasks, giving insight into which design elements capture the user’s focus most. Test results are analysed to gain insights, which are detailed and prioritized within a succinct report. The test report is a functional document, designed to provide clear, concise and actionable recommendations that materially improve the UX.

Digital is fast moving, driven by dynamic consumer and technology trends. Digital also offers an opportunity to be responsive (not just reactive) to user behaviour. Utilising site analytics, online surveys and user testing (1-2-1 and focus groups), we gather quantitative and qualitative insights to continuously improve the performance of our client’s digital properties.
